Hello
My name is Ben Treidlinger and I am the co chair of the OPSEU Region 4 Retirees Division. I recently discovered a retiree from your local that is not a lifetime member of OPSEU. To be a lifetime member the president must complete a lifetime member application form found on the opsue site under member and then members services and then retired members division and complete this form with 10 dollars to OPSEU Headquarters. This will ensure that the retired member gets the Autumn View magazine and gets invited to the two meetings per year and have their expenses covered to come to the meetings. The member i am referring to is Leona Haley and her email is l_haley@live.ca. I have discussed contacting your regarging this matter and she has consented.
Also may be of interest to you is that Leona is the Chair of the newly formed Renfrew County Heath Coalition which is an affiliate of the Ontario Health Coalition who’s mission it is to fight the privatization of our Health care and hospitals that the Doug Ford Government is going ahead with blazing speed. You might consider you or a member of you local join the next meeting on March 29 and Leona will be happy to send you an invitation. Also you might consider your local making a financial donation to the new formed Coalition as well as I am sure their goals align with your local’s.
The coalition is working on doing a referendum province wide about the privatization of your health care and you may consider you or some of your local members participating in that as well.
If you need to contact me, my email is ben.triedlinger@gmail.com and my cell is 613-570-1171 and I will be happy to discuss any of these issue with you
thanks
Ben Treidlinger
Co-Chair of OPSEU Region 4 Retirees Division
Thanks Ben, we will follow up with Leona.
Stephan Lemaire
